He holds an Open Class Mobile Crane Certificate, an Advanced Rigging certificate and has numerous other machinery class certificates. During this time he has been actively involved with all manner of materials handling, including cranes up to 500t. He was also involved with ongoing maintenance of the cranes with the crane companies he was employed by.

He is an accredited Non-Destructive Technician in the fields of Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing.                                        

CRANESAFE INSPECTIONS

Philip Allen has been endorsed by Cranesafe and the Crane Industry Council of Australia as an Accredited Crane Inspector. In the past 7 years has been conducting Crane and Lifting Equipment Inspections for a range of clients, and has been successfully audited by WHS Qld as a competent person to conduct crane inspections.

Cranewise Australia can also offer annual inspections on Elevated Work Platforms and Overhead Bridge and Gantry Cranes

Objective of Periodic Inspections

The objective of periodic inspections is to ensure that defective parts of a crane are either replaced or repaired before they start to affect the serviceability and the safe operation of the crane.

Defective parts are parts that: -

·        Have suffered physical damage, cracks, corrosion etc. which may affect the load carrying capacity of the parts, or

·        Have failed to perform the functions they are supposed to do, particularly where they are provided for  safety.
